Jewelry designer Elara endures three years in her broken marriage with her Marine husband Jake—until he gives her sapphire brooch to Chloe, his late comrade's widow, and asks to separate. She agrees to divorce, hiding her pregnancy, and learns Jake once pulled her from her fiancé so Chloe could move in—a sorority bet. Elara builds her jewelry brand with Leo, refuses to see Jake even after his cancer diagnosis, and gives birth on her own terms. Jake dies, leaving everything to Elara and their child.
